Paula Potato Farmer

Not literally, although we do kinda have some wild spuds at the bottom of the garden, somewhere….However, more a reference to the dire state of my manicure, following a great weekend of gardening. I was out there with the mower, in the long grass. I weeded until my back cried for mercy, tidied, and on Sunday, rewarded us with some new pretties from the garden centre and planted those out whilst boo was a-visiting on rellies. Very satisfied with my labours this weekend, the garden look a gazillion times better. Although still lots to be removed, and of course now it’s spring, the weeding n mowing become an ongoing task.

We watched the second Hunger Games film, which was good, whilst enjoying Jamie Oliver’s 10 hour roast pork, which was excellent! The recipie isn’t to hard, although buying all the stuff isn’t cheap. But the meat was so tender it just flaked, mmmmm! And lots left over.

About midnight, I went outside with some of the fat I’d trimmed from the piggy, and chanced my arm whistling up the fox. M. Renard is still relatively unafraid, came crashing, literally, through the brook fence and had his titbits as I watched on, talking to him. Very special.

All in all, things are much happier than they have been for a while, and I’m feeling pretty perky.
