On Sunday in Breachwood Green, where we were walking, we were incredibly lucky to have seen, quite close up, a red tailed kite. Just hovering, eyeing up some prey perhaps, on the outskirts of the village. Prior to that, we saw a mama Muntjac and her fawn leap over a country lane, spotting us as they crossed, and running for cover in the adjacent trees. Tremulously hiding themselves from inquisitive human eyes. Beautiful creatures. Every now and then I spot one in Lea Valley Park, and feel very privileged to be able to see these things in their natural habitats.

Dinner was good last night, I tried some new things. Whipped cod roe, which I didn't think I'd like, but was quite partial to, and Chicken Karaage, which is chicken with Nori Kewpie Mayonnaise, Fermented Chilli Glaze and Daikon. Daikon is a posh radish, and is quite cute to look at, with it's curly little top. Snickers Posset for dessert, which I though would be dreamy, but wasn't! And a lotta lotta Prosecco. The gentleman made several passes, albeit tentative. Not my cup 'o char, but it's good to be lusted after a little bit!

My third appreciation is a backhanded one. I have for sure started the menopause. I've never been too worried about aging, and I don't want another child, so it doesn't worry me in the least. The night sweats are unpleasant, waking me up sometimes, but as a side effect, that isn't too bad at all. If anything else happens, I'll consider HRT, but I feel fine just letting it be, and grateful for being let off light, some of my lady friends have suffered with it.

I may nix gym tonight, even though I DO need to go. Sleet and freezing temperatures are not enticing me in for some reason.
