Standing Still

Rod's wife, who has cancer, has taken a turn for the worse, and so he has gone to live with her to see her to the end. That's the abbreviated version. We had a cuddle and a few tears, he took what he needed, tidied up, and was off. I don't know when I'll see him again.

I admire him hugely for what he's doing. And ask the goddesses to bless her on her journey. Strange though it may seem to many, I am so glad he'll be with her when she goes.

The downside is, my life is completely put on hold for the foreseeable future. But that's nothing compared to what they are going through.

I've had a good weekend. A lazy Friday night at home, which was most welcome. A madly busy Saturday, getting as much as I could done. And yesterday I spent in Brick Lane and Petticoat Lane with Dawnie and Phil. We were supposed to be perusing, but ended up sat outside in blazing sunshine, quaffing beers and wine and stuffing our faces with pizza! A very chilled and fun day out. Tonight Debs is cooking me a roast chicken dinner, so I am being spoilt, and I don't mind that one bit!

Wasn't able to sleep at all tonight. Stayed in bed til almost 4am, and then just got on with bits n bobs. I'm sure it'll hit me later. But no point in staying in bed when you're stressed and fretful, may as well do something productive.
