I bagged a free night at The Ibis London City, and was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived, it's been refurbished and is very funky indeed! Loved it. The room was spacious, no noise (it's right in the heart of the action for Shoreditch and Brick Lane/ Petticoat Lane, really great location!) and a super-comfy bed. Spotlessly clean and with lovely staff, all friendly, chatty and helpful. What more can you ask from an hotel? A credit to the Accor brand. Breakfast was great too. Spot on, hope to stay again!

Met up with Sandie, Pete, Dawnie and her friend Fiona at Balans Kensington http://www.balans.co.uk/site/index.php/london/kensington/ - I usually dodge chain restaurants, but our first choice was closed, second choice was not taking bookings, but really happy with the third! Our waiter was witty and amusing and interacted with us really well, always good to start a meal laughing! The cocktails were extremely moreish, I wish we'd had more time there. I opted for the Thai Red Curry with noodles, and it was perfect. Everybody ate every thing, I also tried the Balan's burger and the crab chilli linguini, both were well presented and very flavoursome. I'd go to this branch, and indeed any other, great place to eat with friends :)

Then on to http://www.roofgardens.virgin.com/ for the Mad Hatters Tea Party. Another cocktail there, again, very good, and we went outside into the gardens, despite it being more than a tad chilly. They had a pair of rather good acrobat type entertainers, very obliging and amusing. However, we were rather put off by the large numbers of spaces that were for VIPs only (we sat there anyway), the braying hoorays, who have no idea of personal space or politeness, the extrortionate price of drinks (£11 for a G&T, £34 for house wine) and the rather crass attempt to charge service charge for drinks you went to the bar and got yourself! We've had dinner in Babylon before, and had a lovely night, but this we felt was a tad commercial, and so we all decided we were happy to move on early. It's a stunning venue, and ticks lots of boxes, but outrageously overpriced and clearly going for a young n stoopid TOWIE/MIC market, which they're welcome to!

So on to Club Rub. Hilarious taxi driver, kept us entertained! And a Londoner, that's rare in the after-club cab market these days! Rub wasn't overly busy, which was nice really. Chatted to loads of people, made some new friends, and danced the night away. Usually I'm the first to complain about music and dancing in fet clubs, but we all really enjoyed ourselves! Had a play with Earl n Tankie, a bit of norties with boo in the grope box, danced with rubber dollies and just had a really good time! We got chucked out at 4am, LOL.

This morning, woke up hungover at 11, and boo bolted as they start clamping at 8, but the goddesses were smiling on us, no ticket. Breakfast at the hotel, and home. We were going to go shopping, but everything's closed, Easter Sunday innit. I fancy a sleep, he's been kipping for 2 hours already. But I shan't. And I'm not going to do anything eaither, feeling content n lazy :)
